Piedmont Steppers Track Club is being built to develop confident, disciplined, and resilient young athletes through quality coaching, competition, and character development.
Team Expectations
Our goal is to train athletes who compete with effort, carry themselves with respect, and represent their families, teammates, and community the right way. Because of that, we expect all athletes and families to follow the expectations below.
- Parents/guardians must complete all required registration, waiver, emergency contact, and consent forms before participation.
- Families are expected to keep contact and emergency information current throughout the season.
- Student-athletes are expected to prioritize school and maintain good academic standing.
- Families should communicate with coaches if academic concerns may affect attendance or participation.
- Athletes should wear appropriate athletic clothing and running shoes to every practice.
- Athletes should dress for weather conditions during outdoor practices and meets.
- Jeans, casual shoes, sandals, and unsafe footwear are not appropriate for training.
- Team uniform expectations will be communicated before competition.
- Athletes are expected to respect teammates, coaches, parents, officials, opponents, and facility staff.
- Poor sportsmanship, bullying, disrespect, or unsafe behavior may result in removal from practice or competition.
- Athletes and families represent Piedmont Steppers Track Club on and off the track.
- Fundraising may be used to support team equipment, facility costs, athlete assistance, travel support, and program growth.
- Families are encouraged to participate in team fundraising and community-building efforts.
- Athletes are expected to arrive on time and ready to train.
- Athletes should give strong effort, listen to instruction, and practice safely.
- Parents should communicate in advance when an athlete will miss practice.
- Athletes are responsible for their own personal items at practice.
- Parents should communicate meet availability as early as possible, especially for relay planning.
- Athletes should arrive on time and remain with the team unless released by a coach or parent/guardian.
- Athletes should listen for event calls and be prepared before reporting to the bullpen or event area.
- Families are responsible for transportation, meals, lodging, spikes, and personal meet-day items unless otherwise stated.
